Joye Schwartz
Intoxicated by the colors in nature, Joye Schwartz paints in an impressionistic style illuminated by the brilliance of the light and playing on the various hues contained in the world surrounding her.
Joye Schwartz was born in Elgin, Illinois in 1952. She received her MA from the University of Denver in 1976 in Audiology. After working in the field of audiology for 10 years, Ms. Schwartz started her education in art. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pa. and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Ms. Schwartz taught high school art and owned 2 art related businesses before returning to her studio full time in 2012. She has been actively involved in community art activities and was the founder of Arts in the Park Festival in Elkins Park, Pa. in 1995. Her artwork has been exhibited in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Artwork by Ms. Schwartz are included in private collections in the US, including recently the private collection of Ronald Lauder, Israel and Australia. Ms. Schwartz currently resides in Elkins Park Pa. where she teaches and paints in her studio.
